L'Ambasciata del Pakistan a Roma è lieta di presentare il Concerto di musica classica pakistana del Maestro Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan che si terrà il 07 dicembre 2012 alle ore 19.30 presso la Sala Baldini in Piazza Campitelli n. 9.

Il Maestro Shafqat Ali Khan proviene dalla rinomata famiglia pakistana Sham Chaurasi che, per tradizione, vanta un forte legame con la musica classica da generazioni. Il Maestro tradurrà la poesia sufi e popolare pakistana in classici ragas.

Shafqat Ali Khan (born June 17,1972) is a classical singer from Pakistan. He is the youngest son of Salamat Ali Khan who was an accomplished classical singer of Pakistan. His family traces a 500 year lineage of musicians of the Shamcharasi Gharana, descendants of two famed court musicians to the artistically-devoted Akbar the Great: Chand Khan and Suraj Khan. Shafqat Ali Khan is a master of the Ghazal and sufi tradition of classical music. Performing from the age of seven, when he appeared at the Lahore Music Festival, Khan has continued to attract attention with his soulful singing. He has received numerous awards including the Amir Khusro Award, as "best classical singer", in 1986, a gold medal from Fairslabad University in 1987
